No Reason

Must one always have a reason to be happy? Because today, I'm happy. I've been smiling a lot and not just because of that hilarious episode of The Big Bang Theory that R and I watched in the morning. I've tried analyzing it, but I'm not sure yet why I'm happy. So, I think I'll just go with the flow today.

It's a lovely day, the sun is just setting and the banyan tree outside is alive with roosting birds. R and I are about to embark upon an expedition in quest of eye makeup and water chestnuts. I have several essays to write when I return and perhaps a day long expedition to Pune to plan. I'll be up half the night, staring at this white screen. It's a nice life.

  1. Happiness is a state of mind. After all, we are born to be happy. It is only our feelings of self pity, jealousy and ego steal our happiness. Peace with oneself can store and linger only in happiness. Probably you are in that state now. Hold it to your heart, you my favorite blogger!

I would like to plagiarize Albert Camus:

"You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you continue to search for the meaning of Life."

This is the one statement I truly believe in and the reason why your blog fascinates me so much.

By the way, you should read Camus. People always say he is too morbid and existentialist but I feel he is just the opposite.

Yes, he can be a bit shocking at times but what he is really saying in the end is life is so absurd and meaningless that any search for meaning is stupid. So make the most of it while you can and don't waste your time rationalizing things.

  4. @Anonymous Reader, Camus? Is this a clue to your identity?

I am sure its a clue to my personality but not my identity. Like I said before, we are just acquaintances.

  6. @Anonymous Reader, while I'm grateful to you for your comments and continuing support, I must ask you to refrain from being rude. There were plenty of polite ways of making your opinion known, disparaging another of my readers in that manner was not one of them.
You crossed a line with your comment on my latest post and I have deleted it. Please do not do it again.
